Groupings, Format and Scoring

Group, here is a message from Jeremy, chairman of format and scoring.

Here is something for the blog. I sat down and tried to come up with the teams for the inaugural Whackit Cup. I based it off historical averages on the golf trip, with an S curve approach to the teams. Here they are:

Team 1 - Jared, Jeff, Jeremy

Team 2 - Bup, Bob, Clark

Team 3 - Mark, Tony, Joe

Feel free to tweak them if you like, but to keep it fair, you need to keep people in the order that they appear (i.e., Jared, Bup and Mark are flight 1 and need to be on separate teams, Jeff, Bob and Tony are flight 2, and so on.)

We will play best ball the first two days, and then singles on the final day. I also put together pairings for the threesomes to try and mix them up each day. Teams for the whackit cup stay the same every day, but the only day you play with your team is Day 1.

Bup, Bob, Clark

Mark, Tony, Joe

Day 2

Jeremy, Mark, Bob

Jared, Clark, Tony

Looking for ideas on our slogan this year. Something that fits on a golf towel. This is what I have:

Also, I need help from the committee to determine what number this trip is. We started in 2004, which would make this Whackit 8 but as everyone knows we didn't go last year because some morons got married. I would prefer to call this trip Whackit 8 and have Whackit 7 footnoted in history as a brief shoot around of hoops with Mark and Jeremy in Jamaica.
